STAMP OUT HUNGER

Postal Food Drive-Help Us Stamp Out Hunger

Each May area residents leave non-perishable food items at their mailboxes for postal workers to pick up to donate to Care Help's food pantry.
Volunteers and workgroups transport and separate the food for distribution.

CHRISTMAS FOOD BARREL

"A Caring Christmas"

Sulphur families in need receive a food box and toiletry care package
Children ages 2-18 will receive a gift card. Must be living with family.
Senior citizens in need receive a food box, toiletry care package and gift card.
Coats for children.
Christmas is a time for us to be God's hands reaching out to those in need as we celebrate the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ.
Christmas 2011, Payless Gives Shoes 4 Kids program provided free shoes to children in need.

BACK TO SCHOOL

Back to School Program

School age children in need receive basic school supplies, two sets of gently used uniforms, and gift card for new pair of shoes.

BACKPACK BLESSINGS

Backpack Blessings

This program provides food to school aged children who may otherwise have nothing to eat on weekends.

Grants-The following businesses are instrumental in helping make this program a success:

Calcasieu Parish Police Jury, Citgo Petroleum, Cracker Barrel Foundation, Entergy, First Federal Bank, Isle of Capris, Powell Group and Sempra Energy Foundation

VITA PROGRAM FACILITATOR

Free VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance)

Helping residents in our community with free tax preparation.

2011-2012 January 21-April 14 Saturdays only 9:00am-1:00pm 112 E. Thomas St.

Income less than $48,000
Qualifying forms: Form 1040 with Schedules EIC & R, form 1040-V, Form 1040-ES,
Form 2441, Form 8863, and Form 8812
Must have picture ID, Social Security cards, birthdates, verification of income.
